Cleveland Middle School was built in 1926.  At that time the building included sixteen classrooms, an auditorium and gym.  Additions built in 1927 and 1949 added a library and more classrooms.  In Cleveland Middle School's early years it was known as a Junior High School with grades seven, eight and nine.  Today grades six, seven and eight attend Cleveland Middle School.
